Welcome to the Huntington Beach Sports Hall of Fame

The Huntington Beach Sports Hall of Fame honors the city’s greatest athletes and sports figures.  The inaugural events kicked off in grand fashion at The Huntington Club in February 2025.  The event was hosted by former Dodger MVP Steve Garvey and NBC TV Sports Anchor Olivia Garvey. The event celebrated six inductees whose achievements have left a lasting impact on the sports world.  The evening featured custom artwork by renowned sports artist Dave Hobrecht, capturing the essence of these legendary figures. With a diverse class of inductees spanning multiple sports, the Huntington Beach Sports Hall of Fame set the stage for a tradition that will continue to celebrate the city’s rich athletic heritage for years to come.

MARK SCHUBERT - President 

International Hall of Fame Coach, 29 Gold Medalist 

Mark Schubert

Mark Schubert is a former Swim Coach at Mission Viejo Nadadores where he won 44 National Team championships. He coached The University of Texas Women’s Team and won two NCAA Team Titles. coached the USC Men's & Women’s Teams where he won an NCAA Team Title, coached at Golden West College where he won four State Championship Team Titles and has coached USA Swimming Team at eight Olympic Games where he was a four-time Head Coach and four-time Assistant Coach. Mark has coached 32 USA Olympic Swimmers who have won 29 Olympic Gold Medals.

Tim Bremen

Tim Bremen is the Acting Athletic Director at Golden West College, having over 15 years of experience in junior college athletics. For the past 16 months, he has successfully led the Rustlers program. Previously, as Athletic Operations Assistant, Tim managed home contests and ensured outstanding game-day experiences for student-athletes. He has been with Golden West College Athletics and the Huntington Beach community since 2013.

Ryan Broccolo

Ryan Broccolo is from Huntington Beach. An accom-plished Sports Marketing leader, he holds a Masters from USF in Sport Management and has held management positions for ASICS, Quiksilver & Hawk Clothing, Skechers Performance and Upper Deck. Ryan has also held leadership positions for professional teams LAFC, Angels, LA Galaxy, LA Kings and World Team Tennis. Ryan has managed a team of 30+ touring pros, coaches and junior pro-gram while at ASICS, negotiating and sign-ing the first global athlete, a Wimbledon Champion and the #1 American tennis player. Ryan played college tennis and was Boys & Girls' Varsity Tennis Coach at CMHS where he won league championships, finished undefeated in league and won the first boys' Or-ange Coast League title in school history (since 1958). He and his wife Megan were named LA Times/Daily Pilot Co-Coach of the Year, on the "Dream Team" and com-pleted the NYC Marathon together.

Dave is a long time Huntington Beach resident. Owner/Publisher of the comunity's newspaper, Executive Director of the HB Auto Dealers Association and former Mayor of HB. The HBSHoF is a life-long dream adding to the multi-dimen-sional character of Surf City USA.

Ann Meyers Drysdale

Some legends are only found in history books, others like Ann Meyers Drysdale, continue to walk among us and inspire others to succeed. Retired professional bas-ketball player, renowned sports caster achieving athletic success from High School through College and of course the Olympics. The first woman to receive a 4-year athletic scholarship from UCLA and the first woman to sign a contract with an NBA Team. You served as the General Manager of the NBA's Phoenix Suns and the story goes on even today
